About Us
Suds around the Lake
Lake House Soapery is located on Buckeye Lake in Thornville, Ohio. Our handmade soaps take inspiration from life around the lake.
Making soap like my Grandma Bessie used to make, we use natural ingredients, essential oils and fragrance oils to blend products that will leave your skin feeling nourished and squeaky clean.
Why handmade soaps? I have been a nurse for 12 years. Taking care of myself and my family is very important to me. I started researching the benefits of homemade skin care products and when I stumbled on handmade soap, I decided to give it a try. I was immediately hooked.
The soaps are fun to design. I love selecting the fragrances, the essential oils and natural products which are used to create the recipes. BUT … the best part is knowing that I am using a product that is healthy for my skin.
Once I recognized the benefits of these products, I was excited to share with my family and friends. Soon after that, the idea of Lake House Soapery formed. I wanted to create soap designs which reminded me of the nature and beauty around us. Each soap has a story to share about Life around the Lake.

The Lake House Soap Shop
The “Soap Studio” is in an extra bedroom that has been converted to my Studio. On any given day, the house smells like the newest bars of soap that are curing on the racks.
